Our Hertfordshire Stage Hire service once again came in useful for Dacorum Borough Council who hosted The Big Garden Party to celebrate the re-opening of the Water Gardens in Hemel Hempstead.

Aside from the challenging weather the event was a huge success, with childrens entertainers, live music being performed, the rock choir and the opening ceremony performed by the Mayor of Hemel Hempstead.

Hemel Hempstead is undergoing a huge regeneration project and the latest part of the town centre to be refreshed were the well-known Water Gardens. Upon completion of the works, the ‘Big Garden Party’ was held to mark the completion of the works. The Water Gardens looked stunning.

The clocks have gone forward and summer is on the way. Now is the time that organisers for music festivals & outdoor events are starting to plan events throughout the summer.

Where do you start when there is so much to do to put on an event? It can seem a daunting task but with the right people, the right preparation and planning you can put on a successful event.

Fundraising Dinner Sound & Screen Hire

A charity client were holding an exclusive private Fundraising Dinner at a Private House in the Hampstead area of London. Just Smile were asked to provide Audio Visual support for the event, including Plasma Screen hire around the room and audio equipment to enable the guests to watch the screening of a 21 minute video. This video and it’s content formed the centrepiece to the fundraising on the evening and therefore it was a priority to ensure everyone invited could see and hear everything suitably during the event.

Our team supplied our D&B Audiotechnik T series system for the sound, 6 Plasma Screens and a small custom stage with Lectern, plus some lighting, with gobos on the moving fixtures placed around the room, which all had our client charity logo which added to the ambience in the venue. We also provided pin-spotting and wireless uplighting throughout the venue which created a stunning feel for the event.

This was a luxury dining event, with charity auction, presentations & sponsorship opportunities and we have provided many similar events with sound, lighting, staging and much more. Whether an awards ceremony or a fundraising dinner, most events have a technical requirement which we are always happy to fill.

Event Production | The Function Band | Carlton Tower, London

We were asked to provide event production for Brandon’s Barmitvah being held at the beautiful Jumeirah Carlton Tower with The Function Band performing. Working with The Event Geekz on this fabulous event, together we designed a custom black triangular Acrylic stage, finished to perfection, with CO2 jets either side. A Truss framed backdrop with black drape and white rope set off with UV LED Strips to create a stunning backdrop to the stage, which was home to our LED Screen DJ Booth.

We also provided a 24ft x 24ft Black Gloss Acrylic Dance Floor, Lighting, with moving beams & moving washes on Black Acrylic Plinths and mounted to the backdrop truss. Haze machines created a fine mist throughout the room which showed off the lighting for this stunning event.

The LED Screen DJ Booth provided a centerpiece for the stage which included shapes & effects whilst the performances from The Function Band took place, and then through the dining & early evening the screen displayed a logo designed especially for the event and family photographs.

Jumeirah Carlton Tower

The Jumeirah Carlton Tower was a stunning venue for a Simcha, and the venue has their function suites on the first floor. The venue is located in the Knightsbridge area of London and is only 23 miles from our Warehouse in Watford, Hertfordshire.

The venue is well designed with elegant panelled walls, luxrious carpets & rugs throughout the venue and stunning communal spaces, bars / restaurant which can host private dining and drinks. The Jumeirah Carlton Tower is well appointed and ideal for events, with a hospitable team at the heart of the venue.

LED Screen

Pure Orange Production | LED Screen

We were asked to provide event production & show off our LED Screen for Pure Orange who are a function band for a showcase that they were holding at The Hive, in the Amber Suite.

This would give us an opportunity to show off our Wedding Production & Event Production skills at a familiar venue, with a great function band. Our production on this showcase included:

  • LED Screen Hire (a giant 3m x 2m high resolution video screen)
  • 2 tier black box carpeted stage
  • White Pinch Pleat backdrop
  • 4 white plinths
  • 4 beam moving heads

  • DJ booth

We provided full event production for the Barmitzvah of Theo at the Four Seasons Hotel, Park Lane, London.

Along with the Santa Dash Charity Fun Run PA Hire. The Hospice of St Francis have asked the team at Just Smile to provide the event services for all of their major fundraising events and activities. Obviously it goes without saying that we are delighted to work with the amazing team at The Hospice…

On an early Sunday morning in December, our team arrived at The Riverside in Hemel Hempstead. It was the 11th December, and it was a little chilly, but our team delivered a small platform stage, simple PA Hire and a gazebo to keep it all safe from the elements. We have provided PA Hire in various shapes & sizes now for the hospice. Two of our team also took part in the charity fun run 😉

We are always keen to work with more groups and organisations (charities included) to provide PA Hire for any type of indoor or outdoor event.

We have recently also joined the Hospice as a corporate partner, and both David & Tim from the Just Smile team actually took park in the Santa Dash this year and raised over £700 for the Hospice of St Francis this year… (well done guys)

We provided Wedding Lighting and Production, including Stage for both the band Muzika & the Chuppah, full lighting for the ceremony & reception, Backdrops, including a full height custom pinch pleat backdrop behind the band on the stage.

We were contracted by our clients direct, Jon & Debbie, who had a very clear brief, meticulous planning and organisation beforehand allowed our team the time & creativity to deliver an outstanding production in the stunning Grand Syon Ballroom at the London Hilton Syon Park.

We provided our Mini-Festival Outdoor Stage for Lawsons Building Merchants Family Funday which was held at Knebworth Barns, right next to the beautiful Knebworth House.

Our small set up included a 4m x 4m covered stage, PA system and all the bits and pieces to provide basic sound for singer, band and a few speeches. Collette Spinner who was MC / Host and is a fantastic singer looked after proceedings, and as you can see below, even started helping out with the pack down.

We were approached by Summerswood Primary School in Borehamwood to provide our Festival Stage Hire and help them elevate their already successful ‘Woodfest’ event. They wanted to become a little more professional, and pull together all of the resources which in the previous year had been pulled together through friends etc

The event is attended by around 2000 people, mostly the parents and children of Summerswood Primary School, and the event raises money toward the running of the School.

Just Smile provided our Festival Stage, Shermann Audio RS5 Festival Sound system, with mixing desk, mics, sound & stage crew. The school also approached Elstree UTC who provided some lighting & students to operate it, for which we assisted them with site power etc.

Awards Dinner Pendley Manor

Sweett Awards Dinner at Pendley Manor

We provided the Stage, Sound and Lighting for the Sweett Group Staff Awards held at the beautiful Pendley Manor in Tring, Hertfordshire. There were 9 awards celebrating the huge contribution made to the business by various members of the team.

Bridget & Tina who arranged the event, had organised stunning chair covers, centre pieces for the tables, and etched glass awards to be distributed, which all culminated in a positive event, and was sure to make the winners feel very special.

Awards Production at Pendley Manor

Pendley Manor Hotel is the perfect location for an Awards Dinner, with many bedrooms,  and several fantastic function rooms. The Harcourt Ballroom played host to the Sweett Group Awards Dinner, with over 70 guests sitting comfortably in the beautifully decorated space.

Pendley Manor also hosts many Weddings and has facilities including a swimming pool and spa. There is also a Pool room, which is where some of the guests from the awards planned to end their night.

We have provided Wedding Lighting and Wedding Production at The Rosewood. We have actually provided a number of different events with our lighting and production services at this fabulous hotel and we know the events team well at the venue.

The Rosewood is a beautiful 5 Star Hotel in London, one of the more recent additions to the catalogue of venues available in the capital. We have had a relationship with the venue ever since it opened it’s doors and we look forward to this continuing.

The Ballroom sits downstairs with a grand lobby which is perfect for Wedding & Events. The space is versatile and has a number of other rooms around it. Our team have created a number of productions here, but also simple Dance Floor & Lighting Hires.
