Welcome to the Just Smile Summer Newsletter!

Summer has officially landed and so has our busiest season of the year.

At Just Smile, things are moving fast right now, with events in full swing and plenty happening behind the scenes.

In this issue, we’re taking you inside some of our favourite recent events, sharing a closer look at what’s been keeping our team so busy and launching a summer competition you won’t want to miss…

A Note From Our Managing Director...

We’re now well into the summer season, and after the first few weeks of events, it’s safe to say the team has definitely felt the pace pick up!

We’ve been busy delivering luxury wedding productions at The Landmark, The Biltmore, The Park Hyatt River Thames and The Rosewood, while also getting stuck into festivals and some fantastic outdoor events. Highlights have included celebrating 200 years with our client UCL, as well as events for Southey Brewing, Armed Forces Day and many more.

We’re also excited about what’s ahead. The time and effort we’ve invested over the past 12 months building relationships with agents and venue finders is really starting to pay off, with new venues, clients and partners joining our ever-growing portfolio.

We’re always keen to build new partnerships, so if you regularly use audio visual services for your events and would like a fresh perspective or a competitive quotation, I’d love to hear from you.

It’s also been a proud few months for us. We were delighted to win ‘Best Event Provider’ at the Cool Event Awards, as well as being nominated for ‘Best Event Tech’. On a personal note, I’m thrilled to have been named a finalist in The Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the Creative & Media Industries Entrepreneur of the Year category. I’m certainly looking forward to the awards night at the Grosvenor House Hotel in November.

Speaking of November, our Christmas calendar is already filling up fast. If you’re planning festive events or end-of-year celebrations, now’s a great time to get in touch. We’ve got some really exciting things in the pipeline, and we can’t wait to share them.

Event Profile: EN Awards

The EN Awards celebrate excellence across the UK exhibition sector, bringing together over 750 professionals for an evening of recognition and networking.

Hosted at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, this year’s event delivered a vibrant and memorable experience. We were proud to support the production, creating a setup that matched the scale and energy of the evening.

Our production included LED walls, a central stage, dynamic lighting using Chauvet & Robe fixtures and a full RCF sound system supported by Sennheiser microphones. Additional screens ensured clear visibility throughout the room, while a large backdrop brought the stage design together.

It was a fantastic event to be part of & a great example of how strong production can elevate awards!

Venue Spotlight: Sopwell House

In this edition of our newsletter, we’d like to shine a spotlight on one of Hertfordshire’s most prestigious wedding and events venues – Sopwell House, the luxury hotel and spa located in St Albans.

Sopwell House remains one of our favourite venues to work at. From the stunning event spaces and beautiful grounds to the fantastic team behind the scenes, it’s a venue that consistently delivers exceptional experiences for clients and guests alike.

We’re proud to share that we attended the COOL Event Awards, one of the UK’s leading celebrations of excellence in the events industry.

This year, we were honoured to be nominated in two categories: Event Provider and AV Tech Provider.

To be recognised in both areas reflects the breadth of what we deliver and the standard we aim to uphold across every project.

What made the evening even more special was being announced as the winner of the Event Provider award!

Awards are never just about a single moment, they represent the consistent effort, creativity and dedication that goes on behind the scenes.

Event Profile: Wedding Production at the Biltmore Mayfair

We had the absolute pleasure of providing AV production for Chloe & Sasha’s wedding at the iconic Biltmore Mayfair, a truly spectacular celebration filled with elegance & style.

The ceremony featured a beautifully illuminated Chuppah, complemented by elegant staging and a crisp white aisle runner, creating a timeless and sophisticated backdrop as the couple exchanged their vows.

For the evening reception, we transformed the main room with a flowing white silk pleated backdrop, creating a luxurious focal point behind a 7m x 3.5m stage designed to host an incredible night of entertainment.

A stunning LED white dance floor kept guests dancing long into the evening.

Bringing every design element together was our bespoke lighting scheme, carefully curated to enhance the atmosphere and transform the venue into a true visual masterpiece.
